Our local hero has been selling comic books on his own for several years, but when he thought about joining in with other, more seasoned sellers, as a way to get his comics in front of more people, he discovered it is tough for new people in the "business" to break into shows that have set vendors or aren't in big enough places to easily take on more sellers. He knew he couldn't be the only one who would love to sell in a group, and saw that the shoreline area of Connecticut didn't have much going on, in terms of bigger events.
Our local hero had the time and energy to bring comic vendors together, under one roof, reaching out via social media and in person at local shops. He went from just a handful of interested parties, booking the small room at East Creek Landing...to being overbooked, moving to the bigger room.
Thus, ShoreCon was born.
There are very few shows out there that are devoted solely to comic books. Many fans want to spend time looking at comics only--they don't want to see toys or clothing. Why NOT have a show that is ALL comics??
ShoreCon is over 30 tables of comics--each table is 8 feet long--all in one room. JUST comics.
